Aileen Anderson, 91, passed peacefully and gracefully from earth to heaven on November 23, 2016 in Charleston, West Virginia.

She was born Aileen Elizabeth Julia Moll on March 30, 1925 in Brookfield Township, Huron County, Michigan to Charles and Anna (Haag) Moll. She graduated from Central High School in Bay City.

Aileen was the last survivor of twelve siblings, six boys and six girls. She was married to Ronald Anderson for 71 years. They met at a roller skating rink, married during World War II, and raised their family in Bay City, where they were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Aileen was primarily a homemaker, but also assisted in bookkeeping at her husband's business, Anderson Radio. Up until and after retirement, she enjoyed sewing and quilting and, with her sister-in-law Bertha, made many quilts that were sent to foreign countries for refugees through Lutheran World Relief. She also enjoyed cooking, housekeeping, golf, and writing letters. She was active in recruiting volunteers for staff positions at her church and for the March of Dimes. She sang in a variety of choirs at her church and taught Sunday school classes.

Upon their retirement in 1986, Aileen and Ron began spending time in Destin, Florida during the winter, and eventually built a second home there. In May of 2012, they moved to a retirement community in Charleston, West Virginia.

Aileen was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Anderson and her son, Kent Anderson. She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Anderson of Charleston, WV and Michelle Degenhardt of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter-in-law Shelley Anderson of Bay City, MI; son-in-law Scott Degenhardt of Murfreesboro, TN; twin grandchildren, Megan (Jordan Wiggins) and Eric Degenhardt; and two great-granddaughters, Heather Lilly Wiggins and Autumn Rae Wiggins.

Private interment has taken place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 12 Noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bay City with the Rev. Kevin C. Jones officiating. The family will be present from 11 a.m. until service time.
