Albert Joseph Peglow, age 94 years, passed away on October 26, 2016. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on May 2, 1922 to the late William and Elizabeth (Spiker) Peglow. Albert served in the United States Army during World War II, in Sicily, France and the Ardennes. He participated in the Invasion of Normandy and was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a member of Trinity St. James Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Post No. 3724 in Standish. He retired from American Hoist and Derrick Co. He is survived by his son, Terry (Susan) Peglow, 6 grandchildren: Peggy, Jimmy, Tina (Keith), Gina, Amanda and Jammie, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dora Wahlse, a son, James Peglow and a daughter, Bonnie Peglow. Funeral service will be on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Trinity St. James Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery with Military Rites under the direction of the Bay County Veteran's Council. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family.
