Benjamin Pierce Kurzer, age 29 years, passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2016 at Wellspring Lutheran Services Home in Frankenmuth, Michigan. He was born in Holland, Michigan on January 9, 1987. On November 10, 2012, he married Felice (Wojewski) at Bay Shore Camp in Sebewaing, Michigan.
In addition to his wife, Benjamin is survived by his parents, Delmer A. and Ruth A. (Pierce) Kurzer, six siblings, David (Alicia) Kurzer, Jonathan (Julie) Kurzer, Elizabeth Kurzer, Christina (Zac) Castonguay, Nathanael (Tabitha) Kurzer and Timothy (Maggie) Kurzer, Felice's parents, Donald and Vickie Wojewski, and her sister, Julie Wojewski. Benjamin also leaves eight nieces and nephews: Jamie, Danielle, Jean, Jacob, Andrew, James, Zeva, and a soon expected niece, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Benjamin loved passionately, first and foremostly his Lord and Savior. That love gifted him with the ability to love, not only his precious wife and his family, but also his many friends and the the multiple clients he served as a home health companion. Everyone had a special name for Ben; from Ben-Jamin and Daisy to Gentle Ben and of course he was Felice's "Dearie!" Ben and Felice first met as children at Bay Shore Camp which continues to have special place in their hearts as a place of fellowship and ministry. Ben was a drummer. From the drum line in high school and the band, Outanowhere, to the worship team at Bay Valley Christian Church, he used his talent to glorify God. He enjoyed shooting guns and spending time at the family farm in Mio, Michigan.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Benjamin's Life Celebration will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Bay Shore Camp, 450 N. Miller St., Sebewaing, Michigan. Pastors Wayne Keim and Dan Dickenson will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to Bay Shore Camp in Sebewaing or to help maintain his beloved Rosedale Farm in Mio.
