Brian Dean Carlisle, age 52 years, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 1, 2017 while preparing for his golf league. He was born on March 9, 1965 in Saginaw, the son of the late Donald and Betty (Staten) Carlisle. On August 4, 2007 he was united in marriage to Lorri Freesland. Brian was currently working as a marine mechanic and was also a carpenter. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and gardening, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving family include his wife, Lorri; children, Nicole (Ian Scott) Carlisle, Tabitha (Brant Berry) Carlisle, Jason (Jennifer) Freesland, Lindsey Lupu, Kevin (Becky) Lupu, Brandi Jarvis and Lauren Freesland; grandchildren; Ekko Scott, Lucian Scott, Rollie Berry, Cadin Berry, Brant Berry Jr., George Berry, Jackson Berry, Layton Berry, Camry Berry, Brodie Good, Shea Miller, Asher Miller, Kierra Miller, Kiley Klinesmith and Kennedy Sprague; brothers and sisters, Donald (Patricia) Carlisle Jr., Chris Callahan, Kathy Walstad, Jim Carlisle, Sandy Carlisle, Barbara Kuchar and Linda Darlene Carlisle as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and his trusty companion, Thunder. Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Patty Carlisle Ferris, Gary Carlisle, Tom Carlisle and Randy Carlisle.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. Pastor David G. Somers officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to wishes of the family.
