David (Davy) passed away suddenly on May 30, 2017. He was born in Bay City on January 29, 1976 to David K. Leavitt and Diana L. Pockrandt. A lifelong resident of Bay City, he was employed at Michigan Sugar for 10 years. In his youth, he spent a lot of time at the family cabin, at Warbler's Hide Away in Grayling, Michigan. Many memories were made during family gatherings at the cabin. David was a kind friend to all, willing to help anyone in need. He leaves behind several friends who will forever remember "Davy". Left to cherish his memory are his parents, his sister Kendra Kelpinski, his maternal grandfather Frank J. Pockrandt, his Godfather and uncle Clifton (Judy) Leavitt, his Godmother Deb Wilkinson Dingman, his other aunts and uncles: Sandy (Bob) (Leavitt) Stein, Susan (Phil) Meir, Michelle (Don) Shudark, Tracy Krasnica, Jerry Petty, Jr., Peggy Pockrandt, Patrick Pockrandt and Pamela Pockrandt, his niece, Nissa and Nephews: Kwamarion, Kenyon and Eastyn, has well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents: Claude and Emily Leavitt, Arlene (McCann) and Jerry Petty and Marilyn Pockrandt, his great-grandparents: Kenneth and Irene (Borton) McCann, aunts Debbie Leavitt and Debra (Gifford) Briggs, an uncle Dean J. Pockrandt and a special aunt Beverly (McCann) Kline. Funeral service will be on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom P. Dinan will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 11 a.m. until service time. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family.
