Deborah K. Nearman, age 67 years, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully Sunday, January 22, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 17, 1949 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of James F. and Marilyn (Pflueger) Nichols. Deb was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her kids and grandkids. They were her life, along with her animals, that gave her so much peace and tranquility. On May 1, 1971 she married Gary Nearman and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2010. Deb was a teacher in the Bay City Public Schools, she taught German and in later years before retiring she was a substitute teacher. She enjoyed crocheting & needle point, arts & crafts, reading, coloring, ceramics and playing the piano. Deb was a member of the Bay City Lions Club and former member of the United Way of Bay County.

Surviving family include her sons, Troy (Jessica) Nearman and Adam (Stephanie) Nearman; father, James F. Nichols; brother, James D. (Jamie) Nichols; grandchildren, Ashley, Hanna, Ashtyn, Avery, Makenzie and Addison; sister-in-law, Sal (Dale) Griffiths; nephews, Grant and Parker Nichols and Joel Griffiths; niece, Teri (BJ) DuVall ; her dog and special companion, Eddy; god-children, Grant Nichols, Janae Kramer and Joel Griffiths; her special friends, Carol (Dennis) Poirier, Renee (Mike) Pero, Jan (Rick) Tempe, Marilynn (Rick) Stevenson, Barb (Tom) Mehnert and Karen Byron and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Deb was preceded in death by her husband Gary and her mother, Marilyn Nichols.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Major Micheal Myers officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the Bay City Lions Club.
