Donald Dale Sample was born in Mecosta County, MI on December 10, 1936 to the late Gerald K. and Mary M. (Phillips) Sample. He passed away in Bay City, MI on December 12, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Dessie Marion Sample, his children: Kimberly Hazen (husband John) and Krissie Aloia-Sample (husband Kent), his grandchildren: PJ Hazen (Mindy), Karrie Mieske (Dale). Ryan Hazen, James Idzior, Andria Aloia, his great grandchildren: Blake, Landrey and Bella Hazen, Miles and Amelia Mieske. Don shared in the enjoyment with his bride, spending time with his family and friends, NASCAR, horses, poker and travel. Don never required any notice to do anything. If the opportunity arose, count him in.
Don graduated from high school in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He owned and operated Sample Manufactured Housing.
Visiting hours at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 and continue until 12 noon at which time a time of sharing will take place. A luncheon will follow at the Bangor Township Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
