Earl Richard Soule, 71 years, passed away Saturday morning, August 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born on November 14, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of the late James and Nellie (Howey) Soule. On October 18, 1974 he married Ruthie Arnold and she survives him. Earl was the bartender at the DAV Bay City Chapter 9 for many years. He also was an umpire at Southwest Little League for 28 years. Earl enjoyed spending time with his family, baseball and golf.

Surviving family include his wife of 43 years, Ruthie; children, Earl (Pam) Soule Jr., Misty (Henry) Staley, Chet Soule and Jenny Soule; grandchildren, James Soule, Earl Soule III, David Soule, Kayleigh Schweinsberg, Kendall Staley and Jake Staley; a great-grandson, Earl Soule IV; sister, Betty (David) Kieser; brothers, Bobby, Donnie, Larry, Lee, Louie, Kenny and David; sisters-in-law, Madge (Tom) Krrow and Marilyn (Tom) Kelly and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie and Shirley.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the wishes of the family.
