Edith Adeline Herber was born in Bay City, MI on July 22, 1926 to the late Stanley and Blanche (Machelski) Kitts. She passed away at Bayfield Assisted Living on October 30, 2017. She retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. as head cashier. Edith enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a volunteer for the United Way.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Herber, whom she married June 1. 1985. She also leaves her children, John Frederick Wilson and Darlene (James) Lockery; her step-children: Wendy (Ralph) Brown, Edward Russell Herber and James Herber, her grandchildren: Jennifer and Ashley Lockery, Christopher James and Kirsten Wilson, James Parkhurst, Kristie Eversole, Jamie Ybanez,and Joy Herber and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Rose Gross and her brother Ray Kitts.
Funeral and committal service will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Andreas Teich will officiate. Private burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
