Edward Thomas Callahan, age 73 years, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2016 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on November 21, 1942 in Otisville, Michigan, the son of the late Archie and Anna (Engels) Callahan. Tom was retired from Grede Foundry after 30 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, coaching both Vassar Little League and girls softball. Tom also enjoyed playing Santa for the local children.

Surviving family include his wife of 20 years, Betty; daughter, Annette (Brian) McLaren; step-daughters, Penny (Chuck) Taylor and Tammy (Danny) Smith; step-sons, Gary and David Taylor; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; his special companion, Tuffy; also surviving are his siblings, Betty Ann Germain, Mary Lou (Walter) Kreil, Evelyn Greer, Bob (Bonnie) Callahan and Pat Callahan; as well as many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Tom was preceded in death by a step-son, Ward "Jr" Taylor; a sister, Geneva Wickings and brothers, Floyd and Archie Callahan.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is being planned for a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar.
