Edward William Kleinke, age 85 years, passed away at his home on May 27, 2017. He was born in Bay City on July 14, 1931 to the late Edward H. and Margaret R. (Jereau) Kleinke. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict and retired from Bay City Chevrolet. Edward was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and U.A.W. #362. On November 24, 1951, he married the former Laura M. Reisig and she survives him. He is also survived by 2 sons: Ned (Nancy) Kleinke and Darrell (Gloria) Kleinke, his grandchildren: Alan (Rachel) Kleinke, Kirsten (Mark) Ostermann, Jennifer (Brian) Johnson and Samuel Kleinke, his great-grandchildren: Lilyann Kleinke, Asher Kleinke, Connor Ostermann, Charlotte Ostermann Kieron Johnson and Nora Johnson. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren: Benjamin Kleinke and Katie Kleinke, as well as well as a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Louis Redwantz. Funeral and Committal Services will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard D. Starr will officiate. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church-General Fund.
