Eleanor Augusta Dinsmore, age 97 years, passed away on January 30, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living. She was born in Merritt Township, Michigan on August 11, 1919 to the late Henry and Meta (Arhens) Bublitz. Eleanor was a member of Trinity St. James Lutheran Church in Munger and its Ladies Aid, as well as the Bay Area Retried School Personnel. She was an avid bowler and retired from the Bay City Public Schools as a bus driver. She married Alfred Dinsmore and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2003. Survivors include 8 children: Gloria Gollin, James (Joyce) Dinsmore, Karen Maki, Larry (Peggy) Dinsmore, Barbara (Ed) Carter, Sandra (Michael) Polny, Russell (Debra) Dinsmore and Wendy (Roger) Lynch, 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren ( with another on the way in April) and 8 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Marge Obertein and a brother, Ralph (Marcy) Bublitz. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, 2 sisters and 3 sons-in-law. Funeral and Committal Services will be on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Trinity St. James Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael G. Stahl will officiate. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 2-9 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. She will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Southerncare Hospice or Trinity St. James Lutheran Church.
