Elizabeth Gay McGee, age 91 years, passed away Tuesday morning October 25, 2016 at her residence, Plainview Assisted Living in Auburn. She was born on October 11, 1925 in Gays Mills, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Christine (Deuel) Larsen. Gay graduated Valedictorian from Tecumseh High School and also was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Journalism. She married Dr. Peter L. McGee on August 9, 1944 and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1983. Gay spent many years working part time with the Bay City Times while raising her family. She would eventually work full time for many years before her retirement. In addition to working full time Gay was active with Meals on Wheels, the Bay County Historical Society Museum and was a former Trustee of Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Bay County. She also spent time with her friends at her Bridge Club, Book Club and the Bay City Garden Club. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for 60 years, where she was active with the Vestry, Guild and the Choir.

Surviving family include her children, Peter L. McGee of Bloomington, Indiana, James B. McGee of Sanford, Michigan, Robert G. (Ann Marie) McGee of Moraga, California and Susan G. McGee of Chicago, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, Heather (Jerry) Ellis, James (Camy) McGee, Meghan (Andy) McGee-Lawrence, Dakota Mackey-McGee, Thomas McGee, Paul Connor Staehle and Ryan Staehle; 7 great-grandchildren, Wesley McGee, Gibson McGee, Emerson McGee, Michael Bryant, Madison Bryant, Katy Lutz and Natalie Lutz. Gay was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Larsen.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Susan C. Rich will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may consider making a contribution to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Bay County.
