George William Eichinger was born in Bay City, MI on March 13, 1919 to the late George J. and Martha (Starke) Eichinger. He passed away in Chelsea, MI on January 15, 2017. Age 97 years.
George was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Until retiring in 1982, he was employed at Newcor.
George is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice Irene Yahn, whom he married November 14, 1942. He also leaves 3 sons: Thomas G. (Carol E.) Eichinger, John B. (Lynette) Eichinger and Robert D. Eichinger, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Barbara Eichinger and a brother-in-law Dale O. Smith.
Funeral and committal service will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Leroy Westphal will officiate. Private burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
