Helen May (Wilks) Moran, age 79 years, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan on May 10, 1938 to the late Levine and Flora Bell (Gordon) Wilks. Helen loved painting ceramics, playing cards as well as watching The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal. She married Edward D. Moran and he preceded her in death in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kurtz and her fiance, Joe Guibord, her grandchildren: Ryan (Marisol Andrades) Simpson, Andrew Simpson, Joshua Kurtz and Alexander Kurtz, her great-grandchildren: Aidan Simpson, Lilliana Simpson, Madison Kurtz and Hunter Kurtz, as well as her sisters: Lois DiMaggio and Elaine Cline. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl DeMar and her son, Donald Moran. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar, Michigan. The Rev. Scott Sherrill will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 12-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
