Patriotic Emblem

James Frederick Diment, age 84 years, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his home. He was born on August 27, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of the late Walter H. and Olga (Chelinko) Diment. Jim retired from Sears in 1993 after 41 years of employment. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a longtime member of the DAV. Jim was also a member of the Moose Club 82 and was one of the founders and a past vice-president of the Swan Valley Athletic Association. Jim enjoyed spending his time golfing, fishing, taking bus trips to various casinos and volunteered as security to the Central Wolves Hockey team for many years. On March 7, 1982 Jim was united in marriage to the late Mary D. Woodford. Surviving are three step-children and their spouses, Rev. Steven (Ann) Woodford of Hemlock, Cathy (John) Walraven of Bay City and Kevin (Kaye) Woodford of Auburn; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Jim also has three children from his first marriage, Kathy, Pamela and Paul Diment. Also surviving are a sister, Betty Gallant and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Diment. At Jim's request, cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorials to the Grace United Methodist Church in Bay City or the DAV.
