Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Jeanette E. (Zena) Bosco passed away peacefully November 19, 2016, at the age of 93 years, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw after a long illness surrounded by her family. Jeanette, affectionately known by her family and friends as "Zena" was born in Saginaw, MI on January 1, 1923 to the late Jasper and Mary (Adragna) Frontiera. She married Frank C. Bosco on August 29, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1999.
Zena loved her family very much and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great joy to be with. Zena was a fabulous cook with a great flare for Italian cooking. She also sewed and knitted many wonderful things.
Zena was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. Joseph Church where she was actively involved with the food pantry. Other memberships include: St. Ann Society, the League of Catholic Women and Men and the Sons of Italy. She was the owner of Jeanette's Beauty Shop for over 30 years.
Zena is survived by 4 children: Anthony F. Bosco, Rosalie (Bernar) Mieske, Dr. Jay W. Bosco and Frank C. Bosco, Jr., 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 brothers: James and Peter Frontiera and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Connie Bosco, and her siblings: Bert, Michael, Mary, Josephine and William.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. Joseph Church, 1005 Third St., Bay City. The Rev. Fr. Robert DeLand will preside with the Rite of Committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. The St. Ann Society will pray the Rosary on Friday at 3 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will be Friday at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home and on Saturday at the church after 9 a.m. Those who so desire may make memorials to the wishes of the family.
