HUIZAR, Joan A.
Vassar, Michigan

Joan Ann Huizar,age 68 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 29, 2015, at her residence. She was born on July 4, 1947 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie (Summerfield) Alexander. On March 30, 1963 she was united in marriage to Ernesto Huizar. Joan was a longtime member of the Millington Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving family include her husband of 52 years, Ernie; children, Ernie Jr. (Emma) Huizar, Dennis (Debi) Huizar, Connie (Lonnie) Scharff, Donnie (Tammy) Huizar, Ronnie (April) Huizar, Charlie (Candi) Huizar, Andy (Holly) Huizar, Crystal Huizar and Jeremy Huizar; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bev Alexander; brothers, Robert Alexander, Jr. and James Alexander; as well as many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her special cousin, Ida Heidenburger.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015, at the Millington Church of the Nazarene, 8692 State Rd. in Millington. Pastor David Richey officiating, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. Joan will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the wishes of the family.
