John Alfred Adair was born in Sanilac County, MI on June 17, 1925 to the late Alfred and Gertrude (Shagena) Adair. He passed away in Auburn, MI on December 26, 2016. He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and formerly of St. Norbert Church. He retired from General Motors. He served in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, the former Donna J. Rich as well as his children: Charlotte (James) Fulco, Deb (Dale) Telfor, Daniel (Barbara) Adair, Tim Adair, Veronica (Jacob) Younk, Mark (Bonnie) Adair, and Rodney Adair, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and 3 brothers: Maurice (Nira) Adair, James (Joanne) Adair and Frances (Debbie) Adair. He was preceded in death by a son Stephen Adair and 2 sisters: Eileen Harshman and Peggy Heichel.
The Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik will preside. Private burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the Liturgy begins. The Bay County Veterans Council will provide military rites at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening.
