Karen Elaine Vanness was born in Bay City, MI on March 6, 1944 to the late Eugene and Helen (Payne) Pawlaczyk. She passed away in Alger, MI on January 17, 2017 at the age of 72 years. Karen was a pharmacist assistant and was formerly employed at the Bangor Medical Center Pharmacy. She was president of the Ronnie McDowell Fan Club.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Edward Vanness whom she married December 1, 1963. She also leaves 2 sons Jeff (Kristin) Vanness and Greg (Bridgette) Vanness, 6 grandchildren: Scott, David, Shea, Isaac and Amanda Vanness and Lakin Sass and fiancé Micah Ellwanger, 3 step grandchildren: Cody, Zachary and Brittny King, a brother Michael (Barb) Pawlaczyk and a sister-in-law Sue (Jim) DeFrain.
Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at which time a memorial service will be held. Pastor Thomas McCoy will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
