Katharine Linton, age 100, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, August 25, 2017 at the Bay Medical Care Facility. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 23, 1917, the daughter of the late Phillip and Margaretha (Phillips) Geisz. Katharine moved as a young girl to Pigeon, Michigan and grew up on a farm before moving to Bay City. On December 6, 1937 she married Frederick Linton and after 55 years together he passed away February 16, 1993. Katharine loved to bake, tend her garden, spend time with her grandchildren and travel with her daughters.

Surviving family include her three daughters, Margaret (Mitchell) Davis, Carol Griggs and Marlene Hill; son-in-law, Michael Wheeler; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her loving dog and companion, Jake and many nieces and nephews. Katharine was preceded in death by her children, Linda Wheeler and Charlotte Niazy; her sister, Elizabeth Piering, brothers, Phillip, Jake, Henry and Fred Geisz and son-in-law, Mark Hill.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Pastor Freda Nader officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association.
