Kristin Sue Horwath, age 59 years, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at her home. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 14, 1954 to the late Rolland and Sue (Mills) Ide. Kristin was employed as seamstress at Frankenmuth Woolen Mills where she made comforters, a job she truly loved. She was also a Civil War enthusiast and loved to read. She was seldom seen without a book. On August 25, 1979, she married Thomas S. Horwath and he survives her. She also leaves 3 children: Brett, Tyler and Kallie Horwath, a grandson, Darrell, a brother, David (Marty) Ide, a sister, Pam Ide, her mother-in-law, Emma Horwath, as well as many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 12 Noon at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar. Sr. Ellen Rinke, IHM will preside with cremation following. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the service time.
