Mrs. Bowker, age 89 years, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Bay City. She was born in Bay City on January 10, 1928 to the late Carl F. and Evelyn (Larssen) Galow. Lois was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was a dedicated volunteer, serving her community at Lutheran Child and Family Services, The Economy Center and in the hospital gift shop. Lois married Neal Bowker on June 19, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1972. She is survived by her daughter, Kris (Bob) McFarland, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as her sister, Karen Wozniak. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Bowker and 2 brothers: Carl and Don Galow. Funeral and Committal Services will be on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kevin C. Jones and The Rev. Leroy Westphal will officiate. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. She will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Wellspring Lutheran Services.
