Louise Jane Martin, age 85 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at her residence. She was born on October 14, 1929 in Vassar, the daughter of the late Paul S. and Mary Jane (Palmeter) Stange. On June 27, 1952 Louise and Orville Martin were united in marriage, and after 60 years together, he preceded her in death on October 7, 2012. Louise was employed at General Motors for 30 years, retiring from AC Spark Plug Division. She was a lifetime member of Juniata Baptist Church and a member of the Vassar Golf & Country Club. Louise enjoyed golfing, walking with her friends and spending time with her family.

Surviving family include her sons, Larry (Annette) Martin of Sandusky, Ohio and Paul (Lynn Pepper) Martin of Millington; grandchildren, Jenna (Bryan) Wood, Shane Martin, Brad (Jamie Fraczek) Martin and Corinne (Patrick) Gibson; great-grandchildren, Landon and Camden, and her brother, Jim Stange. Louise was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Louis Stange, Irene Edzik, Chuck Stange and Pauline Attwood. .

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Juniata Baptist Church. Pastor Lyle Ohman officiating. Private burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. Louise will lie instate at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Juniata Baptist Church – Building Fund. .
