Margaret Emma Obertein was born in Merritt Township, MI on November 22, 1920 to the late Henry and Meta (Ahrens) Bublitz. She passed away July 4, 2017 in Bay City, MI. Margaret was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. She retired from General Motors Saginaw Manufacturing plant. Her husband, John A. Obertein, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her three children: Janice (Clinton) Warner, Carol (C.J.) Gerard and Rick (Michele) Obertein, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1great-great grandchild and a brother Ralph (Marcie) Bublitz. She was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren and a grandson-in-law as well as her siblings: Earl Bublitz, Eleanor Dinsmore, Lester Bublitz, Lawrence Bublitz, Bobby Bublitz, Harry Bublitz, Arlene Broderick and Clara Sylvester.

Funeral and committal service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Pankow will officiate. Private burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or Southern Care Hospice. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. She will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
