Patricia Ann Retan, age 72 years, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at her home, following a brief illness. She was born in Oxford, Michigan on March 3, 1941 to the late Maurice and Lillian (Gottchalk) Rodgers. Patricia enjoyed working with ceramics, playing cards and bingo, as well as traveling and sight seeing.

On March 28, 1970, she married Gerald A. Retan and he survives her. She also leaves 5 children: Gerald (Michelle) Retan, Jr., David Chad (Amy) Retan, Karen Santa Cruz, Kim (Gary) Tucker and Nikki (Rick) Beauchamp, her grandchildren: Andrea Retan, Arin Retan, Ella Retan, Brooke Retan, Antoinette, Jessica, Crystal, Nikki, Anna, Amanda and Logan, her great-grandchild, Meadow, as well as her special nephew and nieces: Steve Cooke, Debbie Judd, Susan Richardson, and Mickey Stine, and her beloved pet cat, Sammy. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Rodgers and a sister, Eva Cooke.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lifeline Victory Center with Pastor Wally Reames officiating. Committal Service and burial will be in Lum Cemetery at 3 p.m. Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 12 Noon until 4 p.m. and 6 until 9 p.m. She will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
