Robert Emery Daignault , age 69 years, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Bay City. He was born in Saginaw on June 9, 1947 the son of the late Leo J. and Dorothy (O'Hagan) Daignault. Bob grew up in Detroit and after graduation joined the United States Marine Corps. He served a tour in Vietnam and at the time of his discharge achieved the rank of LCpl. Bob eventually found his way to the Bay City area where he worked in construction as a painter for many years. He was active through the years with several local veterans' organizations.
Surviving family include his son Douglas E. (Jolenne) Daignault, his daughter Michelle D. (Matthew) Smith, his grandchildren: Katerina Daignault, Alexandra and Madison Smith, a sister Mary Restivo, a brother Leo (Debbie) Daignault and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Ed, and 2 sisters Judith Ann Osborn and Jeane Cowell. His final resting place will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016.
