Patriotic Emblem

Robert Ernest Reynolds, age 76 years, passed Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016, at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of the late Arlo and Verla (Miller) Reynolds. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was employed and retired from Means Industries in Vassar and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. On October 17, 1998 Bob and Ann Oprea were united in marriage, and she survives him. Bob was an avid gardener, who was known to take on any DIY project and enjoyed golfing at Willow Springs in Millington. He was very passionate about Vassar Athletics and the Wounded Warrior Project. Bob also had a fond love for his pets, especially Truffels.

Surviving family include his wife, Ann Oprea; daughter, Katie (Andy) Otterman; son, Andrew (Brittany) Reynolds; grandchildren, Miette and Brahm Otterman; brother, David Reynolds; sister, Sandra Reynolds; a brother-in-law, David Rogers; sisters-in-law, Lori (Scott Bellinger) Rogers and Lisa Rogers; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Vassar First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Cathy Christman officiating. The family will greet friends from 12 noon until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Vassar Athletic Association or Travis Mills Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar.
