Mr. Martin, age 76 years, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2015 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1939 to the late William V. and Delores (Adams) Martin. He was a member of St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church and worked in construction. His hobbies included farming, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren. On April 2, 1960, he married the former Wanda Kay Stedry and she survives him. He also leaves his children: Pam (Steve) Aranyos, Patty (Dave) Ostrander, Wesley (Cindy) Martin, Jr. and Bill (Jaime) Martin, his grandchildren: Jonathon, Jessica, Emily, Joel, Mike, Melissa and Mark, his great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Nate, Jazzmin, Trinity, Logan, Lillian, Corben, Robert and his special little guy, Brayden, 3 sisters: Emma Jean Hill, Gerry (Don) Springstein and Mary (Roger) Starking, a brother-in-law, Frank Stedry, Jr., 3 sisters-in-law: Jean Stedry, Leora Stedry and Darlene Stedry, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Albert, Julius, Lawrence, Morris, Edward, Rosa, Isabelle, Ella Mae and Marjorie. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church in Vassar. The Rev. Christopher White will officiate with interment following in Juniata Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar, Michigan. He will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
