William Elias Awad, age 62 years, passed away on October 4, 2016 at his home. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on May 17, 1954 to the late Frederick and Margaret (Brittian) Awad. He served in the United States Army and was a member of In His Presence Ministries. Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Awad, his children: Michael J. (Tara) Awad and Tammy (Sam) DeOpsomer, his grandchildren: Tyler Michael Awad and Ciara El-Amin, his step children: Matthew Lee Huggard, Mitchell Allen Gregorczyk, MaCal Booth Huggard and Marie Mae Huggard, 10 step-grandchildren, as well as his siblings: Michael (Dorothy) Awad, Edward (Sadie) Awad, Elissa (Bill) Thomson, Timothy (Cinnamon) Awad, Warren Awad and Richard Awad. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Robert and Daniel Awad. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Baranek will officiate. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. His ashes will be placed at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
